TinyPause is a browser extension that pauses visits to websites you choose and keeps a local record of your usage. This policy explains what the extension handles and how it is used.

Data TinyPause Handles

TinyPause checks navigation URLs so it can identify visits to sites you added to your list and redirect those visits to its pause screen. The full destination URL is used transiently to show the intended destination and authorize the user’s continue action. TinyPause does not save full destination URLs in visit history.

The extension stores the following information in the browser’s extension storage:

How Data is Used

This information is used only to pause visits to your selected sites and show your local usage history. Usage time is counted while a monitored site is selected in the focused browser window.

Storage, Sharing, and Retention

Data remains in the browser profile where TinyPause is installed. TinyPause does not send it to the developer or any server, sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties. Site settings and history remain until you remove them in Settings, clear history, or remove the extension. Temporary approval and active-tab state are kept for the current browser session.

Permissions

Chrome asks for access only to the sites you add. That access allows TinyPause to redirect visits to those sites to its pause screen. You can remove a site and its access in TinyPause Settings, or manage access in Chrome’s extension settings. Firefox uses its browser permission model to intercept navigation to sites in your configured list.

Your Choices

You can review and remove monitored sites, clear saved usage history, and revoke site access in Chrome or Firefox. Removing the extension removes its extension storage from the browser profile.

Security

TinyPause does not transmit your local usage data. Protect access to your browser profile and device to protect the data stored by the extension.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use Disclosure

TinyPause’s use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The extension uses browsing activity only to pause visits to sites the user selects and to provide the local usage history feature. It does not transfer this information to third parties, sell it, or use it for advertising.
